Description
Dry
- Dry style
- Gooseberry & grapefruit
- Vibrant & well balanced
- Lingering finish
"This is pristine and gorgeously aromatic on the nose showing grapefruit, green apple, rockmelon and white floral aromas, leading to a flavoursome palate that's punchy and lingering. The wine offers classic sauvignon flavours backed by crisp acidity, making it fabulously drinkable. At its best: now to 2022" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Sep 2020
Intense aromas of gooseberry and green capsicum layered with tropical fruits. Vibrant and well balanced, the palate shows typical Marlborough Sauvignon flavours including grapefruit, nectarine with a lingering mineral finish. A succulent wine drinking beautifully now or up to two years from vintage date.
Fruit for this wine was selected from various vineyards across Marlborough’s maritime and cool climate unique sub regions, including the Wairau Valley. The grapes were harvested when they reached optimum ripeness.
Marlborough’s worst ever fire, Boxing Day 2000, burnt 6,000 ha, for over three days, killed thousands of stock and threatened the wine town of Blenheim, as well as a number of vineyards and wineries. Disaster was avoided by the brave residents, of what is now known as Fireroad, who battled the blaze, by using buckets and hand held hoses and were eventually assisted by a fortunate wind shift.
Food Pairing: A perfect match with garlic prawns on the barbeque.
