Spy Valley’s commitment remains to the land and to the people who tend it – they are simply farmers at heart, nurturing soil and vine to cultivate the complexities in our wine. And they’re mindful that it’s their focus on sustainability which will ensure our guardianship of this land for generations to come. They’re considered a little clandestine around Marlborough, deep in the bewitching valley. Perhaps it comes with being named for their proximity to the spy base down the road, but they like a bit of mystery.

2 x Spy Valley Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2019

Enticing aromas of grapefruit, feijoa, bell pepper and a hint of orange zest. Mouth filling and vibrant with flavours of citrus, green herbs and tropical fruits. The mid palate is rich and textured while retaining fine acidity and elegance overall. 2019 has the ripeness and structure to promote in ageing ability. Fruit will be at its most vibrant in the first 2 years but expect this vintage to retain its freshness until at least 2024. The palate richness and complex characters should become more apparent as cellaring progresses.

Pale straw colour in the glass. The bouquet is fragrant with aroms of sweet honeysuckle, almond pastry and quince. Creamy and full bodied with flavours of peach, nutmeg and pear tart. Concentration of fruit shows through with a supple underlying structure that leaves the wine fresh and vibrant on the finish.

2 x Spy Valley Marlborough Chardonnay 2017

Roast nuts, fig and white peach. Crisp and bright, with a delicate clean finish. Peach, melon and orange skin flavours. This wine has a creamy mouthfeel and nutty notes from barrel ageing. Always a great candidate for cellaring, expect this wine to be at its best 3-7 years after harvest, and confidently expect a rewarding drink until at least 2027.

Sourced from two vineyards in Waihopai Valley and Omaka Valley in the Marlborough region.
