Rock Ferry Orchard Vineyard Marlborough Rosé 2019

Description

Delightful salmon pink colour, this Rosé is made from Pinot Noir grapes exhibiting cherry & strawberry notes made in a dry style with a refreshingly crisp finish.

The winemakers aim in the vineyard is to grow the best fruit they can so it can speak of its home and express its personality. To do this you need healthy vines and soil. By practicing organics and incorporating some biodynamic principles they believe they are doing their best to help achieve this and let their vineyards evolve and speak as they would like.

The Pinot Noir Clones Abel , 777 and 5 were machine harvested from the Orchard vineyard. The fruit was skin contacted for 3 hours then pressed. The free run juice only was collected and settled overnight before being racked clear to ferment. Following a long cool ferment the wins was racked with light lees for maturation for 3 months before bottling.
