Aromas of dark cherry, ripe plum and red berries are layered with toasted spice and a subtle earthy character. The palate is supple and succulent, with concentrated fruit, balanced acidity and fine tannins carrying the wine through a long, smooth finish.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe fruit was sourced from the Ward Valley, in southern Marlborough, where deep clay-loam soils with traces of limestone help produce Pinot Noir with depth, structure and a distinctive savoury edge. The long, warm 2023 growing season delivered beautifully ripe, balanced fruit. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAfter harvest, the grapes were cold-soaked for one week before fermentation began naturally with the indigenous yeasts present on the grapes. Following fermentation, the wine remained on its skins until the desired tannin profile had been achieved.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt was then gently pressed into new (approximately 20%) and seasoned oak.
