Rounded mouthfeel & fine-grained tannins, finishing delicately dry
Wine Orbit
Description
- Red berry
- Dark mushroom
- Smoky spice
- Fine tannins
"It's elegantly complex on the nose showing dark cherry, smoked game, dark mushroom and thyme characters. The palate delivers gentle weight and rounded mouthfeel, well supported by fine-grained tannins, finishing delicately dry. At its best: now to 2022" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Apr 2020
Bright red in colour with a lifted and expressive nose of ripe plums, dark berries and exotic spice. The palate is rich and supple with a core of sweetly fruited red berry and dark cherry flavours balanced by bright acidity. Notes of forest floor and smoky spice add complexity before fine tannins provide definition to the finish.
2018 saw a return to auspicious vintage conditions – a mild, wet winter was replaced by a wet spring. July and August were hot and dry before September remained sunny with cool nights. Fruit quality was deemed excellent and the wines will deliver characteristic regional expression.
