Its illustrious past owes much to two British wine merchants, Alfred and Walter Gilbey. In 1875, these two lovers of life and of “the finer things” decided to make the property their home residence. Over 125 years, they built up the reputation of the vineyard and turned Loudenne into a place full of life and of unparalleled receptions.

This collection beautifully displays the reputation in which they have been founded upon, making your next dining occasion one to remember.

Collection includes:

1 x Château Loudenne Médoc Cru Bourgeois 2012 (France)

AWARDED TOP 5: No.2 Bordeaux Reds John Saker's Top 5 Bordeaux Reds, Stuff.co.nz

AWARDED TOP 50: Metro Top 50, Paul Tudor, Master of Wine

AWARDED 92/100 POINTS & 4 STARS: Bob Campbell, Master of Wine, Jun 2018

"A blend of cabernet franc, cabernet sauvignon, malbec and merlot from a reliable producer from a rain-affected vintage. When young, the Loudenne Médoc has a deep crimson colour, a strong, complex nose with notes of dark fruits (cherries, blackberries, blackcurrants), toast, and more delicate notes of vanilla. Some vintages also have elegant, fresh notes of mint. The wine is dense, concentrated, and fruity on the palate with a pleasant tannic structure, a full body, and a long finish. It is a wine that has both an excellent aging potential and tannins that are pleasant enough to be enjoyed while it is still young. As it ages, the fruity aromas disappear and are gradually replaced by the sophisticated aromas of sous bois. The wine becomes more complex and its tannins more velvety

The 2014 vintage is characterized by mild but very rainy periods in winter (January, February), which favoured a rapid growth of vegetation. The cool spring slowed down the development of the vine. July and August were cool and regularly watered, with sometimes hot spells over a few days. Beautiful sunshine in September and stable weather over several weeks allowed us to get the grapes to ripen well. The North Médoc and Loudenne were spared from the corridor of rain and storms which struck Saint-Estèphe and Pauillac

1 x Château Loudenne Médoc Cru Bourgeois 2015 (France)

Awarded Gold Medal: Concours de Bordeaux Vins d’Aquitaine 2018

Awarded 95/100 Points & 5 Stars: Bob Campbell, Master of Wine, Real Review, Dec 2019

"A 50/50 blend of cabernet sauvignon and merlot.
