The ancient soils and high altitiude ensures the richly flavoured fruit maintains structure and tannin. Vineyards planted on the slopes of mountain ranges in the north and north east add a degree of elegance to the wines.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis years vintage was an irregular though, positive year where long season grape varieties fared best as the weather delivered a range of environments. The cool nights in the last stages of ripening were favourable and produced high quality, fruitful expressions of the region.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eTotally de-stemmed with a short cold soak before a long, cool fermentation with daily pump - overs to achieve optimum fruit and colour. The core of the blend was aged in stainless steel before three months maturation in seasoned French and American oak.
