Plenty of aromas of freshly pressed berries, plums and cherries

The first -and for the moment only- wine of this range aims to be the pure expression of the Tempranillo grape variety

The palate is lively and rounded, making a wine which is fine for drinking alone but also with good steaks and sausages.

Description

Intense and deep bordeaux red colour in the glass with a wonderfully varietal nose. Plenty of aromas of freshly pressed berries, plums and cherries especially, with a lively and rounded palate.

The Tempranillo grapes for this wine were grown in silt and sand, gently rolling terrain with vineyard management of bush vines. The 2016 vintage in this region was, once again, an extremely dry year, with under 350mm of rain and none between June and October. Temperatures were not excessively high, however, until a sudden heatwave in September. This resulted in grapes with perfect health and ripeness.

The 100% Tempranillo grapes in the winery were destalked before crushing and then fermented at 22ºC in stainless steel tanks, with gentle pump-overs for a dry red wine style. The final product is a blend of several different parcels from different plots within the vineyard to show different characteristics of this varietal, with some more aromatic than others, which are more well-structured. Blending these components shows a pure expression of the Tempranillo grape variety tand achievea wine which is aromatic and clearly varietal on the nose while offering great structure in the palate.

Food Pairing: The palate is lively and rounded, makes this a wine which is fine for drinking alone but also with good steaks and sausages.

Nice balance of tannins and acidity. Very easy drinking considering it is the same grape that is grown in Rioja.
