Description

John Evans and John Tate started planting vines in Wilyabrup, in the heart of Margaret River -one of Australia’s elite wine-growing regions- in 1974. Over thirty years on, the passion of these founders has endured making Evans & Tate Australia's best selling Margaret River wine brand.

The region boasts optimal conditions for vineyards. Proximity to the ocean, soil consistency and perfect seasonal temperatures all contribute to the overall excellence of Margaret River wines. The Evans & Tate range covers the fun and friendly to the thought-provoking and sophisticated, capturing the essence of the time and place they were created. Offering the trusted and familiar styles that have been the anchor of Evans & Tate since our beginnings as well as new, more adventurous offerings.

Here in this fabulous summer mixed case we offer an opportunity to sample the new vintages from Evans & Tate's 'Expressions' range, which celebrate the spirit of Australian wine with a series of serious wines without the serious attitude!

3 x Evans & Tate 'Butterball' Chardonnay 2017 (Australia)

Packed full of personality and premium Margaret River wine, this wine unapologetically tells it how it is. Evans & Tate's 'Butterball' is a proudly full bodied and flavoursome with distinctive buttery notes and perfect balance. Ripe stone fruit, melon and pear with intense shortbread, brioche and toasted bread notes from time spent maturing on yeast lees on the nose. The palate is rich, full and seamless. Creamy, ripe stone fruits fill the mouth on entry with lovely shortbread and brioche flavours adding richness and complexity. This full flavoured wine is a classic style that rewards with long flavours and length.

Select Chardonnay parcels were picked at full ripeness from Evans & Tate's vineyards located in central and northern parts of the Margaret River wine growing region. After harvest 40% of the blend underwent full malolactic with remaining parcels on yeast lees. 20% of the blend was fermented in French oak.

Food Pairing: Fresh seafood or slow roasted pork.

Alc 13.5 - Seal: Screw Cap

3 x Evans & Tate 'Strawberry Fields' Rosé 2017 (Australia)

Salmon pink tending to light, bright copper in the glass with lifted aromatics of freshly crushed strawberries, rose petal and Turkish delight adding lovely layers of perfume on the nose. The palate is long, fresh and flavoursome. Red berry fruits immediately fill the mouth with a refreshing, dry finish of impressive length.

'Strawberry Fields' is only the third vinatge from the Evans & Tate's 'Expressions' range made with the Shiraz from two distinct Margaret River vineyards. Located on warm soiled sites these two sites were selected for their ability to ripen Shiraz early, whilst achieving soft, ripe tannins which is critical to making a balanced, flavorsome, vibrant style of Rose with perfumed aromatics reminiscent of walking through a field of strawberries! A neutral yeast strain was used to ensure pure, vibrant fruit character was at the forefront of the style.

Food Pairing: Ideal for a barbecue and for drinking with spicy food such as curries, also good with ripe peaches.
