Description
A lifted, perfumed nose of ripe, juicy strawberries, raspberries with a hint of cream. The palate is dry with flavours of ripe, red berry fruits, balanced by a fresh citrus acidity.
Grapes hailing from Lawson's Dry Hills own Chaytors road vineyard where coastal sea breezes moderate the daytime temperatures allow gentle ripening. This block is situated on the banks of the Wairau Diversion where the silts, river stones and gravels produce bright, fruity Pinot Noir. The 2017 vintage produced very clean fruit that the winemaker were able to harvest in perfect condition, with a lovely balance of natural acidity.
The grapes were crushed, destemmed and half pressed immediately. The remaining wine was held on the skins for twenty four hours to extract colour and flavour. The resulting juice was cool fermented to retain the wines bright, pronounced berry fruit characters. This wine is perfect for immediate summer drinking but also has cellar potential of upto 2 years
Food Pairing: This wine is both light and elegant making it a perfectly refreshing glass of wine with or without food. We recommend drinking this lovely drop chilled with a summer lunch of grilled fish or soft goat cheese.
