Description

"Strawberry pink colour with some depth and peachy hues on the rim. This has a fresh and firmly packed nose with aromas of strawberries, cranberries, pomegranate, savoury herbs and subtle earthy and minerally detail. The aromatics are mouth-wateringly austere and tight. Dry to taste and medium-full bodied, the palate possesses a bright, fresh and fruity core with flavours of strawberries, cranberries, quince and pomegranate, along with subtle notes of fresh herbs, soft red florals and nuances of fruit pastille confectionary. Some mouthwatering mineral elements emerge and flow along a fine, dry-textured line with fresh, crisp, racy acidity in support. The wine carries to a long, lingering finish with a rich core of strawberries and cranberries. This is a fresh, dry rosé with a fruity core of fruit and a mouthwatering, fine-textured palate. A blend of 85% Merlot and 15% Malbec from the ‘Shepherd’s Croft’ and ‘Lesley’s’ vineyards, Bridge Pa, fermented to 13.5% alc. and 2.0 g/L RS and aged on lees in 4,500 L oak vats. 500 dozen made" Raymond Chan, Aug 2016

"Made from merlot (85%) and malbec (15%), the parcels of grapes were pressed and co-fermented in old 4,500-litre oak vats, then aged on lees. It is elegantly expressed on the nose showing citrus, red apple, cherry and floral characters with subtle savoury notes. The palate is beautifully weighted and textured with delicate fruit intensity, backed by integrated acidity. Lovely influence of fine phenolics, making the wine a terrific food partner. At its best: now to 2018" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, July 2016

Palest salmon pink in the glass with a bouquet of poached rhubarb, cranberry juice with savoury nuances of wet earth and mushroom. The palate is rich and broad but with a dry savoury texture.

This mystery wine is a blend of 85% Merlot, 15% Malbec blend grown in Hawkes Bay's Ngarororo River, Bridge Pa District. Both parcels were pressed and the juices combined for fermentation. An old 4500L oak vat was used for fermentation and lees aging prior to bottling. Though best drunk in its youth this wine can be cellered up to two years.

Food Pairing: Chilled as an aperitif or lunch-time wine with cold meat cuts and charcuterie.
