Description

"Dark, deep, black-hued ruby-red colour with light purple tints on the rim. The nose is redolent of dark-red cherry and berry fruits harmoniously melded with fragrant violet florals and thyme herbs, unfolding nuances of spicy and nutty oak. The aromatics show with good depth. Medium-bodied, the palate is moderately concentrated with fresh and lively fruit flavours of dark-red cherry and berry fruit along with fresh and dark herbs. The fruit is sweetly rich and enlivened by soft, but fresh acidity, and underlined by supple, grainy tannins providing light textures and grip. The flavours recede a little as they carry to a lingering finish of cherries and herbs. This is a fresh and vibrant, lively dark-red cherry fruited Pinot Noir with fresh herb notes on a supple, light textured palate. Match with poultry and pork dishes over the next 3-4 years. Hand-picked fruit from Lowburn, destemmed and fermented to 13.7% alc., the wine aged 6.5 months in 19% new oak" Raymond Chan, Jan 2018

A beautifully styled pinot, the bouquet shows spiced cherry, game, fragrant spice, toasted almond and dark mushroom characters, leading to a flavoursome palate that delivers juicy fruit intensity together with seductive savoury nuances, wonderfully framed by silky tannins. At its best: now to 2019" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Feb 2018

Deep purple colour with resonating hues. Vibrant, perfumed nose of red cherry and violets with hints of leather and tobacco. Dark stone fruit and black cherry on the palate with notes spice and char. A complex, elegant wine with ample silky fine grained tannins providing a seamless mouth feel across the palate and good persistence on the finish.

The fruit was hand harvested mid-March to early April 2014. The fruit was destemmed into stainless steel tanks before being inoculated with selected wine yeasts to carry out the fermentation. The wine was aged in French Oak barriques for approximately 6.5 months of which approximately 19% was new oak.
