Description
"Don’t be fooled by his look, Mister is a modern Hawke’s Bay love story. The love of the grape, the land, the adventure and the road that led you there. Slightly left of centre, Mister is as clever as it is curious, as bold as it is beautiful, dapper in dress-sense only and modern to the core. So, banish the kerchief to your back pocket and settle in. Understated, never. Magnificent, always" Wine Maker
"This is full of tasty flavours; the beautifully fragrant bouquet shows watermelon, raspberry, peach and floral aromas, followed by a juicy palate that is vibrant and flavoursome. The wine offers terrific fruit intensity while remaining delicate and refreshing. At its best: now to 2019" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Jan 2018
"Bright salmon-pink colour with a little depth, lighter on the rim with purple tints. The nose is fresh with aromas of strawberries and cream entwined with watermelon, lifted red florals and mouthwatering confectionary elements. The aromatics show good presence and depth. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate has vibrant and lively flavours of strawberries and cream, red cherries and florals with confectionary flavours. The fruit forms a fine-textured, firm core with subtle phenolic textures, underlined by fresh, lacy acidity. The wine is thirst-quenching, and the flavours carry to a lingering, crisp finish. This is a fine-textured dry rosé with a firm core of strawberries and cream, florals and confectionary on a mouthwatering palate. Serve with canapés and Asian cuisine over the next 2 years. Pinot Noir fruit, given 2 hours skin contact and cool-fermented in tank to 13.0% alc. and 0.81 g/L RS, the wine aged several months on lees" Raymond Chan, Jan 2018
This dry style of Rosé is made to be enjoyed day or night, with food or without. Lifted aromas of strawberries, watermelon, raspberries and floral characters lead to a flavour-packed palate that is refreshing and succulent with a hint of fruit sweetness, beautifully balanced by bright acidity.
The juice for this wine is given around two hours of skin contact to achieve light colour, before being pressed, settled and fermented in the same way we normally make our white wines. The wine was aged on lees for a few months to increase the palate richness and balance. It was lightly fined and filtered.
