Bright red in the glass with a complex red berry and raspberry fruit on the nose, with subtle cinnamon and vanilla notes. This Merlot displays the wonderful fruit flavours of black fruit, raspberry, cherry and ripe plum. These are nicely integrated with caramel and vanilla oak characters to create a smooth and enjoyable red wine.

Merlot as a variety tends to be lower in tannins and is often blended with other varieties to add softness. On its own, merlot produces a smooth, rich wine with little maturation required. The fruit for this wine was picked just as the grapes flavours were at their prime. Harvest was carried out in the cool of the evening and the fruit was crushed and fermented on skins delivering the rich colour. The wine was then matured in tank and on oak, before filtering and bottling. Ready to drink now, or can be cellared for up to 2 years.

Food Pairing: This Merlot's fabulous fruity notes will be particularly tasty when paired with Mediterranean lamb burgers served with polenta chips & tzatziki dressing.
