Description

1x Wild Rock Hawkes Bay Chardonnay 2014

Pale golden straw colour. Enticing aromatics of ripe pears and peaches, lemon zest and a hint of toasted oak. Ripe stonefruit flavours on the palate are balanced by fresh acidity and a slight sweetness of oak. Medium in length with an immediately appealing juicy finish. Grapes for this wine were hand harvested and aged for 10 months in French oak barriques and puncheons (10% of which was new oak). This wine can be enjoyed 1 - 5 years from vintage

Food Pairing: Great with light dishes with fish & poultry.

Alc: 13.2% - Seal: Screew Cap

1x Kumeu Village Chardonnay 2016

AWARDED 4 Stars: Michael Cooper’s Buyers Guide 2018

AWARDED 91/100 POINTS: Bob Campbell, Aug 2017

AWARDED 90/100 Points: Nick Stock, jamessuckling.com, Nov 2017

This wine was 100% hand picked before fermentation, 25% of which was in old French oak barriques and 75% in stainless steel tanks. As a result of this there is very little oak influence on either nose or palate. This has allowed the vibrant fruit to show through beautifully with lively lime and lemon aromas and a flinty, mineral edginess with hints of fig and white peach. The weighty mid-palate also shows peachy ripeness along with crisp acid minerality that gives the wine a refreshing cleansing quality.

Food Pairing: This wine is delightful as an aperitif, and even better to drink with fish and shellfish.

Alc: 13.5% - Seal: Screw Cap

1x Summerhouse Marlborough Limited Release Chardonnay 2016

In the glass you get a lovely straw colour and lifted aromas of white peach, melon and subtle smoky oak notes. Ripe stone fruit and citrus flavours combine with a toasty, vanilla accent. Its layered with intrigue and has a long elegant finish.

Food Pairing: Pan seared scallops or a chicken Alfredo.

Alc: 13.5% - Seal: Screw Cap

1x Evans & Tate 'Go Between' Chardonnay 2014 (Australia)

Mid straw with a vibrant green rim in the glass. Apple blossom and honeydew melon are immediately obvious on the nose, followed with hints of nutty yeast lingering. Layers of primary fruit from the various regional influences can be found on the palate. Green apple, citrus, honeydew melon, fresh pineapple and ripe stonefruit are supported by the elements of fresh bread and cashewnut imparted from fermentation and maturation time on yeast lees. Great fruit length and overall balance on the wine allows for long finish.

This vintage was the 7th consecutive vintage the region that has been rated excellent to exceptional – a testament to the suitability of Western Australia to the growing of world class table wines. Fruit for our 2014 Chardonnay was sourced from vineyards in the Pemberton, Blackwood Valley and Margaret River regions of Western Australia. Pemberton contributes crispness and a crunchy green apple profile to the wine whilst the Blackwood Valley component provides balance and early approachability to the blend with the small Margaret River percentage bridging the gap between the two to ensure a seamless integration on the palate. Enjoy now and for the next 2 to 3 years at it’s best.

1x Rapaura Springs Marlborough Chardonnay 2016

Rapaura's Chardonnay is delicious, with yelloe peach, nectarine andmelon flavours complimented by a toasty French Oak influence and a hint of creamy butterscotch. Soft and textural, this Chardonnay is laden with fine fruit flavours that linger to an impressive finish.

The Chardonnay grapes are from premium vineyards in the Marlborough region. The 2016 growing season delivered lovely, ripe, fruit showing excellent varietal intensity. Once pressed, the juice was fermented in a selection  of French barriques and stainless steel to achieve a balance between toasty oak characters and the fresh, ripe, fruit flavours. Partial malolactic fermentation (10%) has softened the wine and added extra weight and complexity to the palate. Careful cellaring will be rewarded over the next 3-5 years.

1x Crazy by Nature Shotberry Gisborne Chardonnay 2016

The 2016 harvest produced wonderfully ripe grapes and full crunchy flavours.  The winemaker creates a fruit-forward style with the freshness of an ocean breeze and the texture of fine silt loam for this wine through the young juice being fermented in stainless steel tanks with natural yeasts.

In 1984 it was thought to be crazy to grow grapes organically but this winery have spent the last thirty years proving that they were right! Now, it seems everybody wants to be crazy, and that’s just what this planet needs. 'Crazy by Nature' – makes perfect sense. Shotberries are those intense little seedless grapes for which the Mendoza selection of Chardonnay is renowned and this wine uses a blend of them from the biodynamic Estate vineyards in the Gisborne wine growing district to make the a glass of Gisborne sunshine for you to enjoy! Recommend cellaring for this is wine is between 2017-2020

Food Pairing: This is a versatile food wine, particularly suitable with seafood, cheeses and summer salads.
