Description

"It is beautifully lifted on the nose showing nectarine, green rockmelon, apple and lime zest characters. The palate is juicy and vibrant, and delivers youthful fruit flavours backed by crisp acidity. Flavoursome and delightfully drinkable. At its best: now to 2019. $18.00. www.lawsonsdryhills.co.nz. Aug 2017" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, October 2017

The aromatics are big and punchy with lots of passionfruit, herbaceous and citrus notes. The palate is smooth and packed with a lovely intensity of flavour. Passionfruit, citrus and more tropical fruit characters lead to an attractive herbaceous finish. Bright and refreshing. Classic Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc.

Harvested from vineyards in the Awatere Valley and the Riverlands, Rapaura areas of the Wairau Valley. The grapes had good flavour concentration and were in excellent condition. We shoot thinned to reduce the yields and the whole crop was lightly leaf plucked on the eastern side early in the season to ensure ripeness. Our aim with this wine is to have strong underlying passionfruit and herbaceous characters. Harvested as the flavours of the grapes in each vineyard bloc reached their maximum. Then gently pressed before fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks at cool temperatures with specially selected, aromatic yeasts. Only the best tanks were then blended to produce this wine. Residual Sugar 3.8g/L. This wine cn be cellared upto two to three years.

Food Pairing: Delicious on its own, with seafood, a Greek salad or any tomato based dish.
