Pale salmon pink in the glass. The Delta Pinot Noir Rosé, special summer release, offers lovely aromas of freshly picked strawberries and cream on the nose. The palate has flavours of strawberry shortcake with a rich round mid palate and dry finish.

The grapes for this wine came from mature Pinot Noir vines planted in Marlborough’s upper Wairau Valley on stony, sandy deep river gravel soils. The selection of clones were planted, predominantly 10/5, which expresses beautiful flavours in this soil type.

Upon harvesting wine maker, Heather Stewart, had the grapes destemmed and left to soak for a few hours to extract a hint of colour from the skins. The grapes were then lightly pressed, the juice warmed, and inoculated with a selected yeast strain for fermentation. The fermentation was carried out in a stainless steel tank at a cool temperature, to enhance and preserve the aromatics. The wine was fermented to dryness then stabilized and filtered, with no fining, making it suitable for vegans.
