Description

"Dark, deep, purple-hued black-red colour, lighter on the rim.  The nose is softly full with gentle volume of blackberry fruit along with subtle notes of boysenberries melded with black pepper, savoury dark herbs and mineral nuances.  Medium-bodied, the palate is rounded with gently rich and softly mouthfilling flavours of blackberries along with savoury boysenberry, black pepper, dark herb and mineral elements.  The fruit is underlined by soft, supple tannin extraction and ripe acidity.  The wine flows smoothly to a light finish of black fruits, pepper and herbs.  This is a soft, supple-textured Syrah with blackberry and black peppery fruit with savoury herb and mineral layers.  Serve with Middle Eastern lamb dishes over the next 4 years.  Chave clone Syrah fruit, destemmed and fermented to 12.5% alc., the wine aged 3 months in neutral seasoned barrels" Raymond Chan, Feb 2017

"From their single estate vineyard in the Gimblett Gravels district, this is bright and beautifully perfumed on the nose displaying dark plum, blueberry, violet and subtle white pepper characters. The palate is ripe and expressive, and shows silky texture and supple mouthfeel, leading to a lingering smooth finish. Youthful and vigorous, and promises to develop elegantly. At its best: now to 2020." Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Feb 2017

Deep Purple.  Elegant aromatic nose of purple violets, blueberries, boysenberries and a hint of graphite minerality.  The palate is soft, silky, complex and approachable.
