A fine settled growing season produced wonderfully concentrated and expressive fruit. The near perfect weather conditions ensured harvest began in the last week of March and was completed by mid April.
Home to some of the oldest vines in Marlborough and planted by hand, these family vineyards are a reminder of the perseverance and hard work. Today, with 10 estate vineyards 100% family owned and run, Wairau River maintains total commitment to quality by carefully managing these sites to keep yields low. A vibrant and lively expression of Sauvignon Blanc with a silky rounded palate, with citrus and stone fruit characters complimenting the tropical and floral notes on the nose. An expressive palate, with tropical fruits notes entwined with mouth-watering citrus hints and mineral acidity.
Four estate blocks were picked over two perfect cold Marlborough mornings, helping capture and retain the concentrated flavour and aromatics of the grapes. Individual batches were cool fermented in stainless steel tanks using multiple cultured yeasts, prior to blending and bottling.

Delightful on the nose. Dry and limey to taste. Quaffable - even thirst quenching, but best sipped - matched with shellfish, or oily seafood.
