Description

"Bright, very pale straw colour, near colourless on the rim. The nose is softly full and voluminous with aromas of passionfruit and gooseberries, white florals, fresh herbs and a fine line of minerals. The aromatics have elegance, depth and intensity. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate has soft, mouthfilling flavours of passionfruit with subtle notes of gooseberries, fresh herbs and snow peas. The fruit is refreshing with mineral nuances. The mouthfeel is well-balanced with gentle richness and liveliness. The wine flows easily and smoothly to a soft, elegant, lingering finish of passionfruit and herbs. This is a soft and gently mouthfilling Sauvignon Blanc with passionfruit and gooseberry flavours with balanced acidity and fruit richness. Serve with Pacific Rim fare over the next 2 years. MS clone fruit from the Waihopi and Wairau valleys, fermented in stainless-steel with 6% in oak barrels to 12.0% alc. and 2.8 g/L RS" Raymond Chan, Oct 2017

Grapefruit, mango, passionfruit and melon in the bouquet, whilst the texture is smooth and inviting with classic Marlborough flavours including ripe bell pepper and tropical fruit on the palate. Crisp acidity rounds off an elegant structure.

Harvested predominantly in the cool of early morning, gentle juice extraction, and pressing under inert gas. Cool settled and mainly fermented in stainless steel tanks, around 6% of fermentation in oak barrels. Fresh is best, with the first 1-2 years providing the best drinking.

Food Pairing: Pairs perfectly with seafood, salads and tomato, lemon and vinaigrette dressings.
