Mystery Central Otago Riesling 2014
Description
This mystery riesling is a super refreshing style, a wine for those of you that like a sorbet between courses or in the heat of summer. The palate offers clean fresh flavours of citrus and stone fruit, bright acidity, with a delicious texture and just a hint of riper fruit from a couple of years in bottle. A true summer smasher. This Riesling is medium weight in an off dry style.
The wine is 100%, Central Otago, all from sustainably grown vines. This region has soils, which are fine loess over schist gravels on both sites and are cropped at an average of 7t/ha. Harvested mid april at an average brix of 22. In the wninery the grapes were whole bunch pressed. Whilst fermentation took place in a mixture stainless steel barrels and tanks, using wild yeast and minimal temperature control, aged on gross less for 3 months.
