A refreshing Riesling, well-balanced acidity and juicy mouthfeel. The palate displays lovely ripe melon and citrus complimented by subtle nettle notes to finish.
Harvested early from a selected low cropping vineyard in the Awatere Valley in Marlborough, this Riesling brims with natural acidity. The lightly pressed juice was settled and then fermented slightly cold with clean fermenting yeast. The wine, with lower alcohol and higher acidity, was stopped with a refreshing natural balance of fruit sweetness. Minimal handling through to bottling resulted in a pure expression, but lower in alcohol Riesling. Perfect for immediate consumption, the high early harvest acidity will also allow it to age fantastically.

Certainly different with a strongly citrus/green apple bouquet and flavour. Initially was disappointed as it was sharper & unlike other reislings I have enjoyed, but in the end decided it was pleasantly refreshing and it did match strongly flavoured seafoods very well.
