Description
Revel in the delightful, rich fruit and depth of this claret from a family estate in Entre-Deux-Mers. With a proud medal winning pedigree, Chateau Franc Couplet is a cuvée from the Entre Deux Mers and typifies the style for which this region is renowned. It displays good depth of colour with expressive ripe cassis and dark plum aromas. It's smooth, rounded and elegantly proportioned with just a subtle hint of spice - the epitome of modern claret.
A 60 hectare estate at Margueron, La Roquille and Landerrouat in Entre-Deux-Mers, planted with 60% merlot 15% cabernet franc 25% cabernet sauvignon Chateau Franc Couplet is owned by the dynamic and talented Eric Meynaud who took over the reigns of this far flung vineyard from his father, Marcel, in 1995. Franc Couplet sits at right at the end of Bordeaux in the Sainte Foy region, named after the pretty, fortified bastide town of Sainte Foy La Grande. Blessed with idyllic scenery and fertile countryside bristling with fruit, game and truffles; Sainte Foy La Grande’s listed market is among the 100 ‘most beautiful’ in France.
