Description
If you've ever thought clarets were too austere, this wine will convert you.
Ripe, velvety and brimful of plum and cassis, it's a very moreish Bordeaux from the family property of top viticulteur Laurent Dard and the terrific 2015 vintage.
Today Château Barade belongs to Laurent Dard, but it has been in the family since 1956, when Laurent's grandfather bought the first vines. He started off with just 5 hectares, but now 35 hectares of vines are planted and some 250,000 bottles of wine are produced each year. Today Laurent is helped in the running of the estate by his son, Florian.
