Description

This magical mishmash of varieties combines the rich, dark berry fruit and spice of Shiraz, with the elegant fruit and firm structure of Cabernet, all wrapped up in a velvety blanket of soft, plummy fruit from the Merlot component. The end result is an unctuous red blend with fiery flavours reined in by superb integration. Mr. Riggs ‘Three Corner Jack’ – hard to ignore, it will stick with you!

The name derives from, Ben -the wine maker's- beloved three-variety red blend and secondly the three-spiked prickle that latches on and rarely lets go once its
claws are attached that are prolific in the likes of McLaren Vale and other South Australian regional areas. Like the wine the three-corner jack is hard to ignore.

In Mr. Riggs’ world, the three-corner jack represents a blend of our region’s three finest grapes: Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, taken from three
of Mr. Riggs’ preeminent vineyards just like the three-corner jack, it’s very hard to ignore once it latches on. Serve it with a steak, a lamb chop or take it to your mate’s place for a Sunday barbie. It combines three of McLaren Vale’s finest grape varieties from three of our very best vineyards. Grapes for the ‘Three Corner Jack’ have been sourced from vineyards from a variety of McLaren Vale’s best sites. A tried and tested area for growing full-flavoured Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, McLaren Vale has almost the perfect climate for grape growing: warm summers, low humidity, good winter rain and long autumns to ensure that grapes achieve ripeness, flavour, acid and balance.
