Description

If you love Pinot Noir you have to try this mix. There are 10 ‘Cru’ vineyards in Beaujolais, a Cru being considered the best vineyards, and many producers are now producing excellent wines that deliver incredible value.  The wines are choke full of Pinot like flavours (although made with the Gamay grape) and offer the drinker an insight into this exciting region.

This delicious 3 pack Beaujolais discovery mix includes:

1 x Mommessin Beaujolais Saint Amour 2014

AWARDED 91/100: Wine Enthusiast Magazine

AWARDED GOLD MEDAL: Concours International du Gamay

"From the most northern of the Beaujolais cru villages, this wine is rich and dense. It has a firm structure as well as black-currant fruits that bring out acidity as well as richness. There is a fine juicy aftertaste that is balanced with the final concentration." - Wine Enthusiast

1 x Mommessin Beaujolais Les Grandes Mises Morgon 'Les Charmes' 2014

AWARDED GOLD MEDAL: Concours International de Lyon

This Morgon Les Charmes opens with a ‘jammy” nose, with aromas of black fruit, candied cherries and fig. Its ruby red colour, intense and brilliant, reveals a wine of fine structure to the taste, associated with freshness and tight tannins. Its soft texture, lightly oaked precedes a persistant, complex, charming finish.

1 x Mommessin Beaujolais Les Grandes Mises Côte de Brouilly 2014

AWARDED GOLD MEDAL: Concours International du Gamay

A characteristic mineral terroir, associated with a long maceration and oak ageing reveals a remarkable wine. Of red colour with bluish reflections, the nose reveals discreet aromas of violets and peonies. The taste, lightly smoked, follows with a fine balance of silky tannins and red-berry fruits with an excellent long finish.

Have only drunk one bottle of the 3 mix pack (Cote- De - Brouilly) but was very impressed. Very smooth and was great with a good steak. Now looking forward to trying the other 2 labels.
