Description

This Riesling is the product of an aromatic fanatic! Wine Maker Paul Bourgeois, loves to make Riesling. This Riesling is a dry style much like Paul’s sense of humour and offers aromas of ginger loaf, apricot, fig and citrus. The palate -as mentioned- is dry in style with intense lemon-curd, a little spice and a rich yeasty influence. A dry, crisp, limey finish.

Grown in Spy Valley's Johnson Vineyard in the Waihopai Valley, the vines were in alluvial stony silt loam, young stony river-bed terraces and clay/silt loam terrace over free draining alluvium. The grapes were hand picked over seven separate passes with 50% of the fruit having extended skin contact before gentle pressing. Long natural ferments in oak and stainless steel vessels, on full lees for seven months prior to blending.

For cellering, Riesling's loves age, and this wine is no different peaking between 3 - 7 years after harvest.

Food Pairing: Enjoy with seafood or poultry.
