Gently off-dry, concentrated and juicy palate with classical ripe Marlborough Riesling flavours from gentle limes through to mandarin and nectarine. The weighty mouthfeel is electrified by a fine acidity which is in turn balanced perfectly with a hint of residual sweetness.
Fragrant, perfumed nose, reminiscent ripe lemon and mandarin. Hints of beeswax, floral orange blossom and flint add layers of complexity.
The Marble Leaf 2015 Riesling is made from a combination of well ripened fruit grown on our estate and from selected sites around the Wairau Valley. Made in an off dry style, the stony, boney, ex-river bed soils impart a distinctive mineral undertone into this delicate and elegant wine.

Let's not get carried away here. At $7.95 a bottle it is outstanding value but I feel that the 93 point rating is more to do with paid for wine reviews as opposed to critical and comparative judging. The wine is pleasant but has some unripe characteristics which I guess leads to some of the citrus allusions (particularly grapefruit). Don't get me wrong, if still available I might order another case but this will be based on price consideration not quality.
