Sam Kim, Wine Orbit

Description

"Pristine and fragrant, the beautifully expressed bouquet shows white stone fruit, green rockmelon, lemon zest and floral aromas. The palate delivers lovely fruit intensity and fine texture, enhanced by subtle sweetness and crisp acidity, leading to a lengthy zesty finish. Bright and light, and offers excellent drinking. At its best: now to 2020" Sam Kim Wine Orbit, April 2017

Beautifully integrated flavours of zesty lime and nectarine with subtle hints of orange blossom. The finish shows well balanced acidity with a hint of sweetness ensuring a refreshing mouth-feel.

The Echo was a 104 foot scow, rigged as a topsail schooner, used to transport goods in the early 1900s, from Marlborough’s coastal Wairau Bar, to the town of Blenheim by the way of the Opawa river. Todays the river meanders through Marlborough’s flourishing vineyards of the lower Wairau plain.

Food Pairing: Well matched with an assortment of dishes including lightly spiced meats or a selection of cheeses. Perfect for immediate drinking, this wine will continue to evolve and reward for at least the next three years.

Love the flavour. Its so fresh and tangy a really great wine for curry or just a refreshing glass on its own.

Bought this as there was no Voignier in stock... and have to say we have enjoyed this light fresh wine.

Was hoping this might be as good as the delicious 2013 Echo but found it lightweight and nondescript. Will put away to see if it develops
