Description

Classically Hawkes Bay in style this Chardonnay reveals a fragrant nose of grilled peach and nectarine stone fruit, with complexing cashew characters from subtle French oak. A silken textured mouth feel unfolds with layers of fruit, delicate oak spice and subtle mealy flavours topped with wonderful acidity.

A classic match with most white meats, rich seafood dishes, cheese and salads. Also highly enjoyable on its own.

Chardonnay was a real highlight of the 2016 Hawkes Bay vintage. After a cool start to the season GDD's finished above average with intermittent rainfall throughout the season providing healthy vine canopies facilitating optimum flavour development. Clones 95, cl15 and cl548 feature from several prestigious Chardonnay vineyards.

100% barrel fermented in mainly French oak. including 24% new. 70% completed malolactic.
