Description

"This wine is a stunning representation of the Bannockburn Pinot Noirs and without doubt maintains the mantle of being one of the best." Isaac Taylor, M2Woman Magazine, March 2017

"Spicy and very fruity core with wild raspberry and cherry laden aromas, new and seasoned oak quite intense with vanilla and brown baking spices emerging as the wine opens-up. Dry on the palate with a core of red berry fruit – spiced cherry and wild fruits, definitive rose and red tea flavour, fine tannins, medium+ acidity and long finish. A lovely wine." Cameron Douglas

"Even ruby-red colour with some depth and light garnet hues on the edge. The nose is elegant and well-proportioned with fragrant red berry and cherry fruit with complexing notes of red florals and thyme and savoury dried herbs. The nose builds in intensity with aeration. Medium=full bodied, the palate is fine in presentation with a concentrated core of sweet dark cherry and red berry fruit flavours, along with notes of thyme, dried herbs and spicy oak. The fruit is supported by fine, grainy tannin extraction and structure, with balanced, refresh, lacy acidity forming a rich core. The wine carries to a long, lingering finish of cherries, raspberries, spices and herbs. This is an elegant, concentrated Pinot Noir with dark cherry and berry fruit with herb and spicy oak layers on a fine, grainy structured palate. Match with pork, lamb, beef and venison over the next 5-6 years. Multi-clone blend from the ‘Cairnmuir and Felton Road vineyards, fully destemmed and fermented to 14.0% alc., the wine aged 10 months in 30% new French oak barriques." Raymond Chan , March 2017

Displays intense black fruit flavours, complexity, and fine tannins that Bannockburn Pinot Noir is renowned for. Sweet spice mingles with dark fruit and an underlying earthiness. Finely balanced with red and black fruits, spices and a brambly earthiness. Finely textured tannins lead to a persistent and elegant finish.

10 months in 30% new French barriques, medium-plus toast, various coopers, mostly Alliers & Vosges forests.

Slow to start with a late finish to winter. Excellent diurnal temperature’s (Warm days, cool nights). A cool drawn out finish gave us a long slow ripening and increased flavour intensity.
