Description

"Vibrant and flavoursome, this appealing pinot shows fragrant aromas of red cherry, clove, thyme and subtle cedar on the nose. The palate is juicy and smooth, and offers rounded mouthfeel and fine tannins. A vibrant pinot showing attractive fruit ripeness together with gentle savoury complexity. At its best: now to 2018." Sam Kim Wine Orbit, May 2016

This is a vibrant Pinot Noir with lifted red berry and spice aromas, together with a generous, fleshy palate complemented by fine tannins. Perfect for drinking now or over the next four years.

This Pinot Noir is sourced from vineyards in the northern Wairarapa and is comprised of several different clones of the Pinot Noir grape. Care is taken in the vineyard to ensure the crops are not high and that the fruit is well exposed so that it can ripen properly.

In the winery, the different batches of fruit are processed separately so that we can see the individual characters on their own and we add further complexities by incorporating different techniques and yeast combinations. The grapes are cold soaked for between 3 and 5 days and then fermented at about 28-32 °C.  Depending on the fruit, post ferment time ranges from 3-10 days, before the wine is pressed off.  The wine is then held in both tank and barrel for 10 months, undergoing malolactic fermentation, before being blended for bottling.

This is a very easy wine to drink and awesome value! The Wairarapa Pinots are always top quality ad have their own special taste. This did not disappoint.

2 cases was just the ticket! Unfortunately but not surprisingly it didn't last long. Excellent for dinner parties, or just a quiet drop after work. Great value for money.

Warm it up by the fire first.

Like all your wines, a much better deal than can be found in any supermarket. Still prefer your Mt. Olympus PN in the same price range, but that's just personal taste. This is certainly very acceptable.
