Description

"Even ruby-red colour with youthful purple hues, a little lighter on the edge and youthful in appearance. The nose is fresh and tightly bound, quite elegant and slender in presentation, with pure aromas of dark-red and black cherries, dark herbs and violet florals. This is fresh and youthful, and yet to unfold. Medium-full bodied, the palate has bright, vibrant and juicy flavours of dark-red and black cherries, along with soft notes of dark herbs and violet florals. The fruit is balanced by a light, grainy tannin structure encasing the fruit, and soft acidity. The fruit vitality reveals an array of floral perfumes and the wine flows with good energy to an elegant, lingering, sweet fruited, gently textured finish. This is a bright and vibrant dark cherry fruited Pinot Noir with herb and violet fragrances, and positive tannin structure, body and grip. Match with poultry, pork, beef and lamb over the next 4 years. Clones 113, 114, 115, 667 and 777 from vines planted in 1995, fully destemmed and indigenous yeast fermented to 13.8% alc., the wine aged 10 months in 12% new French oak. Certified BioGro organic. 4,000 dozen made" Raymond Chan, May 2017

"An organically certified red that was barrel-aged for 11 months. Full-bodied (13.8% alc/vol), it is fresh and supple, with cherry, plum and spice flavours, woven with lively acidity, considerable complexity and the structure to age well" Michael Cooper, August 2017

This wine displays lots of vibrant fruit from red cherry, raspberry to blackberries with a hint of spice underneath. The front palate is packed with sweet bright fruit with the same red cherries and blackberries on the nose following through to the flavours. The soft tannins give this wine lovely mid-palate weight with a dark cocoa finish. This is a vibrant, fruit driven wine that can be cellared or enjoyed in its youth

Nice Central Otago Pinot. Still a bit young, but should improve with age.
