Main Divide Waipara Chardonnay 2015
Description
Citrus fruits, yellow plums and peach intertwine with the savoury and spicy hints of barbecued corn, wood, smoke and nutmeg. While it is conventrated in the mouth, it is never assertive and shows beautiful balance and poise. A tangy minerality complements its lingering dry finish.
The was an ideal grape growing season with a warm summer and a lingering dry autumn. Modest crop levels and optimal ripening have given this wine good concentration.
The grapes were grown on a micture of clay and stony soils. We removed sufficient leaves fom around the bunches to keep them weel ventilated and healthy while maintaining dappled sunlight to prevent them from becoming too hot.
