Description

"Beautifully ripe and richly expressed on the nose, the bouquet shows dark plum, blackberry, vanilla and cocoa characters with subtle spicy complexity. The palate is succulent and supple, and offers lovely fruit intensity and rounded mouthfeel, beautifully framed by fine tannins. The wine is modern and fruit forward, and offers terrific drinking. At its best: now to 2019." Sam Kim Wine Orbit, March 2017

"Dark, deep, near impenetrable black-hued purple-red colour, very youthful in appearance. The nose is softly full and voluminous with aromas of ripe blackberries and boysenberry fruit with slight blueberry jam notes entwined with subtle herb elements. Fullish-bodied, this is sweetly rich and ripe with juicy and succulent flavours of blackberries and boysenberry fruit along with jammy notes. The fruit is supported by supple, light extraction providing light tannin grip and gentle textures, the integrated acidity the fruit softness and richness. The sweet flavours carry along a smooth line to a light, lusciously ripe-fruited finish. This is an up-front, sweet, juicy and ripe Lisboa red with flavours of blackberries, boysenberries and jam of a smooth palate. Serve at barbecues and with grilled and roasted red meats over the next 3 years. A blend of 50% Aragones (Tempranillo), 40% Castelao and 10% Touriga Nacional from Lisboa, fermented in stainless-steel to 13.5% alc." Raymond Chan, March 2017

Ruby red colour. Warm flavours of jammy forest fruit combined with aromas of violets and touches of spice. In the palate it's supple with chewy tannins that provide texture and length in the end of mouth.

This wine comes from vineyards in the Alenquer and Cadaval regions, in the mountains to the north of Lisbon. Classical maceration, fermentation in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 26ºC.

Goes well with white meats, roasts and intense flavoured cheeses.

Very smooth, dark and delicious. Full bodied and 'sweeter' than I am used to however delicious with venison casserole! Great value and quick delivery, thank you.

I bought this wine and then ordered more. It's been a hit with friends and family who have tried it. Just as described on the Blackmarket site. Lots of flavor and body without being overpowering.
