Description
"A lovely expression of the variety, displaying lifted aromas of cassis, blueberry, tobacco and cedar on the nose. It is deliciously ripe and rounded, and offers smooth texture and fine, chalky tannins, which provide a persistent, delicately drying finish. The wine shows lovely structure and length. At its best: now to 2020." Sam Kim, Wine Orbit. Jan 2017.
Lifted aromas of blackcurrant, mulberry and chocolate, complemented with gentle vanilla spicy notes.
Fruit was gently pressed through 90 year old basket press and matured in oak barriques for 12 months prior to bottling; each individual vineyard parcel was kept separate prior to blending and bottling.
Tintara is a winery of two worlds; a living treasure house of tradition on one hand, a testimony to new age winemaking on the other. Set in McLaren Vale, a town on South Australias Fleurieu Peninsula and nestle between the Gulf of St Vincent and the Mt Lofty Ranges. The result is distinctly Mediterranean.
