Description

"This is instantly likable on the nose showing blackberry, cherry pie, dark chocolate and toasted nut characters with subtle spicy complexity. The palate offers excellent fruit weight and power, beautifully enhanced by loads of delectable flavours and silky texture. Super long and immensely tasty. At its best: now to 2020" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit. Jan 2017.

"A new incarnation of an illustrious old Australian label, this is a powerful, inky shiraz of good intensity and depth. Dark fruit, chocolate and spice aromas are touched by charry oak, and the palate offers ripe flavour, powerful tannins and zippy acidity. “It needs a bit of time in bottle to come together,” said John Belsham." Cuisine Magazine, Shiraz Tasting 2016

"Full, even, black-red colour, a little lighter on the rim. The nose is elegant and a little restrained in expression, showing fresh, lively dark raspberry fruit entwined with dark florals and spice notes, along with nuances of liquorice and pepper, unfolding hints of minerals. Medium-full bodied, the palate is tightly bound, the flavours of dark raspberries, blackberries, pepper, liquorice and spices quite elegant in expression. The fruit is underlined by fine-grained tannin extraction and the wine flows with good dive and linearity. The blackberry and raspberry flavours carry to a light, but lingering finish. This is an elegantly concentrated, restrained Shiraz with dark raspberry and blackberry fruit detailed by liquorice and pepper on a fine-textured palate. Serve with lamb and beef, and with Middle Eastern fare over the next 5+ years. McLaren Vale fruit, vines 15-70 y.o., fermented to 14.5% alc., the wine aged 12 month in oak barriques" Raymond Chan

Intense dark red fruits with fruitcake spice chocolate peatiness, multi-layered wine with terrific tannin acid balance offering a fine and long persistent finish.

Tintara is a winery of two worlds; a living treasure house of tradition on one hand, a testimony to new age winemaking on the other. Set in McLaren Vale, a town on South Australias Fleurieu Peninsula and nestle between the Gulf of St Vincent and the Mt Lofty Ranges. The result is distinctly Mediterranean.

The wine is matured in oak barriques for 12 months prior to bottling. Each individual vineyard parcel was kept separate prior to blending and bottling and racked and returned twice during maturation.
