Description
"Opulent and plush, this impressively fruited shiraz is packed with blackberry, plum, cocoa, mixed spice and cedar characters. The palate delivers superb fruit weight and rich texture, beautifully structured by silky tannins. The wine offers classic McLaren richness and power, as well as excellent balance and harmony, making it a delectable wine to enjoy young or matured. At its best: now to 2023." Sam Kim, Wine Orbit ,Oct 2015
Truly representative of the Penny’s Hill McLaren Vale terroir, ‘Cracking Black’ pays homage to the Bay of Biscay soils which contribute much in the way of elegance and finesse to the mighty Shiraz wines of the region.
Generous red berry and plum fruits persist, balanced by subtle oak and sweet spice. This well-structured wine is supported by fine long tannins and exceptional fruit weight, making it unmistakably McLaren Vale, more so Penny’s Hill.
