"Beautifully ripe and elegantly expressed" Wine Orbit

The aroma displays lifted notes of poached pear and delicate florals.

The name is inspired by Marlborough’s worst ever fire on Boxing Day 2000, where disaster was avoided by the brave residents, of what is now known as Fire Road, who battled the blaze, by using buckets and hand held hoses.

Sam Kim Wine Orbit

Description

"Beautifully ripe and elegantly expressed, the bouquet shows white stone fruit, rockmelon and fresh pear aromas together with hints of floral and spice. The palate is juicy and tasty, and offers lovely pristine fruit flavours backed by refreshing acidity, finishing long and attractive. Superbly priced and immediately appealing. At its best: now to 2018." Sam Kim Wine Orbit, March 2017

The grapes for this wine were sourced from premium vineyards within the Marlborough region. The aroma displays lifted notes of poached pear and delicate florals. The palate is juicy and mouth filling with delicious fresh pear, citrus and a touch of cinnamon. The wine is beautifully textured and expressive showing excellent weight and length. Harmonious, approachable and definitely worth a second glass (or bottle)! Well matched with fresh snapper or Asian glazed salmon with oriental salad.

Marlborough’s worst ever fire, Boxing Day 2000, burnt 6,000 ha, for over three days, killed thousands of stock and threatened the wine town of Blenheim, as well as a number of vineyards and wineries. Disaster was avoided by the brave residents, of what is now known as Fire Road, who battled the blaze, by using buckets and hand held hoses and were eventually assisted by a fortunate wind shift.
