"Bright, light straw-yellow colour with slight golden hues, paler on rim. The nose is fresh and full with aroma of ripe yellow stonefruits interwoven with yellow and rose-petal floral, nuances of honeysuckle and flinty lees and minerals. The aromatics possess a soft density. Medium-dry to taste and medium-full bodied, the palate shows good weight and depth, and strong presence of yellow stonefuits and lifted rose-petal florals. Nuances of honeysuckle and musk unfold and minerally lees detail adds interest. The flavours are mouthfilling and underlined by some alcoholic power and drive, with integrated acidity lending roundness to the palate. The wine carries to a fulsome, dry finish of stonefruits and florals. This medium-dry Pinot Gris has yellow stonefruit and rose-petal floral flavours on a fulsome, warm palate. Match with Middle Eastern and Asian cuisine over the next 3-4 years. Ceres is a Central Otago wine company owned by the Dicey family, one of the pioneering wine families in Central Otago. Brothers Matt (winemaker) and James (viticulturalist) and their father Robin, have a passion for creating focussed hand crafted wines that reflect the harsh climate/rugged Central Otago region. The wines are all about showcasing both the vineyards where the grapes are grown and the season which they are grown in. The grapes that go into the Ceres brand are all sourced from vineyards owned by the Dicey family.
