Description

Hot new release Riesling from leading Marlborough certified organic & biodynamic producer.  An exceptional wine showcasing the brilliance of this variety and the skill of it’s very talented and deeply honest, environment respectful winemaker.  Wow!

"Harvested by hand from mature vines in Marlborough, this is a medium style. Pale lemon/green, the 2013 vintage (4.5*) has an invitingly fragrant bouquet, with slightly toasty, bottle-aged notes emerging. It has intense, citrusy, slightly spicy flavours, a gentle splash of sweetness (23 grams/litre of residual sugar), appetising acidity and strong personality. Drink now or cellar." Michael Cooper, 2017

The nose exhibits floral and chalky aromas, alongside hints of beeswax and preserved lemon. The palate is rich and concentrated, with dried peach, lemon and honey notes, and the merest hint of spice. Sweetness and acidity are beautifully balanced, creating a long, harmonious finish.

2013 was an excellent vintage for Marlborough. A calm spring allowed for even flowering and berry set, and an initially warm summer was tempered by cooler temperatures after veraison. The cool end to the season allowed slower maturation of the fruit, encouraged retention of acidity and development of more complex flavour compounds.

Certified organic grapes were hand-picked and whole-bunch-pressed to retain purity of fruit characters. After pressing, the juice was allowed to gently settle, before being naturally fermented with wild yeast at low temperatures until the perfect balance between sweetness and acidity was achieved.

Actually, I'm wondering if you have any more of this Riesling left???? Would like to order more if possible. Thanks

A nice wine from Seresin.

Excellent wine. Good depth and length from low yielding organic wines. A hint of age showing with a kerosene note but still fresh on the palate. I would repurchase. July17. Lance

Full bodied, sweeter style. Plenty of length. Good value

Very nice indeed (and there's only one organic producer in Marlborough, I'm aware of :-))
