Description
"Seemingly always reliable, this is another release of this label which really cannot be faulted. Bright, ripe fruit on the bouquet with a veneer of French oak adding a savoury layer. The plump, juicy flavours of berry and plum with a touch of spice on a seamless and just so well balanced palate seals the deal." James Halliday
Lifted aroumas of musk, rose petal and liquorice craftily interweave with notes of French oak char and woodsmoke. Silky and textural on the palate yet one that strikes a balance between richness and vivacity. The flavours of liquorice, dark cherries and mocha chocolate feature strongly and meld seamlessly with the peppery tannins and firmed acidity.
Our Killerman’s Run Shiraz has been crafted through careful fruit selection, traditional winemaking techniques, sixteen months maturation in new seasoned French oak hogsheads and bottling unfiltered to fully enhance the wines character and appeal.
Generally a warm and dry vintage, 2014 provided ideal ripening conditions to maximise enhanced flavour development and palate generosity. The Clare Valley’s celebrated terroir and elevation is essential for retaining high natural acidities, fruit freshness and fine grained tannins, which are instrumental in creating cellar worthy wines.
