"Fleshy, juicy, luscious and dry" Cameron Douglas Master Sommelier
"I really love the bang and citrus tang of this wine. With nectarine and grapefruity intensity on the nose, and a squeak of smoke on the finish. Fresh, taut and citrusy, it's exactly my kind of chardonnay" Yvonne Lorkin
"An attractive bouquet with creamy, fleshy, plush and ripe fruit aromas, plenty of creamy wood tones with a cashew and baking spice package. On the palate – fleshy, juicy, luscious and dry; flavours of white peach and apple, yellow peach and quince, vanilla and cashew. Balanced, well made, with a lengthy finish. Drink now and through 2024." Cameron Douglas
"It is delicately expressed on the nose showing peach, grapefruit, vanilla and toasted almond characters. The palate is beautifully weighted and finely textured, and delivers bright fruit flavours backed by crisp acidity, leading to a lingering silky finish. A youthful charmer offering lovely drinking and promises to develop elegantly. At its best: now to 2020." Sam Kim Wine Orbit
This is an elegant style of Chardonnay showing lemon citrus, nectarine and vanilla aromas, with a nutty creaminess, complemented by subtle, with oak derived vanilla and spice on the finish. Try this wine with creamy pasta and white meat dishes, or with fresh seafood.
Ready to drink now, or cellar until 2020.
This Chardonnay was cool fermented with both aromatic yeasts and Burgundy style yeasts in stainless steel tanks. Once fermentation was completed, the wine was left for an extended period on yeast lees to promote textural qualities and mouthfeel. The wine exhibits stonefruit and ripe citrus flavours with a rich, mealy texture. A small portion was fermented in barrels using native yeasts to increase complexity.
This chardonnay is a mix of clones Mendoza and Fifteen, from the Dartmoor district in Hawkes Bay. Free draining stony gravels are the pre-dominant soil structure in this area. The crop was kept low and well exposed to ensure even ripening and optimal flavour development.

A nice surprise

Delicious wine. Smooth, flavoursome and beautifully balanced, with oak which doesn't overpower the fruit.
Glenys - 18/06/2017
Delicious creamy Chardonnay, very more-ish! Silky smooth on the palate. Should have bought more!
Julie - 08/05/2017
Was mortified when opening the box as I had previously been disappointed with a chardonnay from this vineyard but all is forgiven. This is a great chardonnay.
Robyn - 13/11/2017
Very drinkable
Robert - 07/07/2017
not your normal Chardy, but very tasty, bought anther 4 dozen
Harry - 20/06/2017
Good finish makes it good value. Like most Chardonnay, and this one particularly, is best served not too cold.
Brian - 24/04/2017
almost as good as our favourite Oyster Bay
Peter J - 24/04/2017
We purchased a Mystery B/M HB Chardy earlier and this was a 2015 vintage from the same winery. The 2016 wine above had more colour and was a much better wine. We would score the 2015 2 stars.

I liked it. Didn't love it. Chardonnay is my drink of choice as I like strong oaky, buttery flavours. This had flavour in spades, very powerful, not for the faint hearted.
Ben - 06/10/2017
This wine is disappointing. It is way over hyped on it's description. It is extremely citrussy and while it has some depth it is dominated by citrus flavours. No hint of oak and not balanced.is this why it is mystery wine. ?
Kenneth - 21/07/2017
Enjoyed but felt the acid was rather sharp and dominant.
Jon - 08/05/2017
Not great body or flavour, but good for barbeque
