Description

"This superbly priced merlot shows lovey ripe aromas of dark plum, blueberry and blackcurrant together with cedar and spice nuances. The palate is succulent and richly fruited, and delivers excellent intensity and vibrancy, beautifully framed by silky tannins. The wine is youthful and immediately appealing. At its best: now to 2019." Sam Kim Wine Orbit Oct 2016.

A concentrated Hawkes Bay Merlot bursting with dark fruit, spice and savoury notes with a perfectly balanced elegant structure. Harvested from a number of naturally low cropping vineyards, this merlot is intensely concentrated with aromas of ripe red plums and savoury oak to finish  On the palate are flavours of luscious plums, sweet dark cherry and hints of vanilla pod, followed by a finely powdered texture.

Drinking beautifully from the outset, this wine can be enjoyed young or with careful cellaring, will mature into a fuller more complex wine that can be enjoyed for the next seven years or beyond.

Beautiful with rib-eye steak and salad.

Allowed to breath a little and is then great value.

Great value and little chance of this being cellared for any length of time as it's so drinkable now! Although it's probably worth thinking about a few extra bottles to put away.

Medium softie. Not overripe and easy drinking. Moderate length. Aug17 Lance

I find the wine just a little sharp for my taste especially when I was expecting a Merlot to be subtle to the after taste.. However, it is still a value for money wine
