Description

"Bright, pale straw-yellow colour with light green-gold hues, pale edged. The nose is soft and full with restrained aromas of tropical fruits, gooseberries, herbs and delicate nuances of minerals, the palate is crisp and zesty with thirst-quenching, racy acidity enlivening the flavours of passionjfruit, tropical fruitrs and gooseberries. Herb ad mineral notes add detail. This has a tight core with a fine-textured phenolic line that carries the wine to a long, slender and firm finish with nuances of gooseberries and steely herbs. This is a crisp and racy, tighlu bound Sauvignon Blanc with passionfruit and steely herb and gooseberry fruit and a firm line. Serve with seafood and pacific Rim over the next 2+ years. Fruit from the 'Home' vineyard, 77% from the winery" block and 23% from 'Block 2', fermented in stainless-steel and seasoned French oak to 13.5% alc. and 1g/L RS, the wine aged 4 months in oak." Raymond Chan

This is a classic Martinborough Sauvignon Blanc with a broad fruit spectrum and gentle balanced acidity. Grapes from two different vineyard sites within the Martinborough region were harvested and fermented separately to retain their distinctive characters. A pungent, lifted nose with tropical aromas of passion fruit and fresh herbs. The mouthfeel is highly textured with deep, ripe fruits that flow through to a fine dry finish.

At Te Kairanga, we have 250 acres of vines planted at four vineyard sites in the Martinborough appellation. This diversity provides our winemaking team with a wide array of aromatics, flavours, textures and styles to work with. The Martinborough Terrace, considered one of the premier growing areas, is home to our Home and Mcleod Vineyards. Once an ancient riverbed, it features deep gravel and alluvial soils and a mild climate. At slightly higher elevations with more
extreme conditions are our Spring Rock and Rua vineyards. All of our properties are sustainably farmed.
