Grenache and Carignan have long been cultivated in Southern France and as far as varieties go they kind of represent the “forefathers” of the Languedoc’s red wines. An homage to these traditional varietals, this wine was subsequently labeled “Les Darons”, the affectionate expression for The Parents in the Parisian suburbs where talented winemaker Jeff Carrel was born.
