This delicious Hawkes Bay Cabernet Merlot displays flavours of blackberry and blackcurrants. The palate is weighty with balanced acidity and a silky fine structure. A lengthy finish shows elements of dark chocolate and warmed spice with a touch of new leather.
W5 Cabernet Merlot underwent malolactic fermentation while aging in a mix of new and older American oak. It was then gently extracted, blended and prepared for bottling.
Drinking beautifully now this wine can be enjoyed young or with careful cellaring will mature over the next 5 years from vintage date.

This was a fantastic wine - I tried to buy some more a couple of days later and it was sold out - I'm sad... for me it's a classic Hawkes Bay Cab/Merlot with a bit of age to smooth it out - a bargain at the price
