Description

5 Star, 5 Star - Riesling Lovers this is Heaven: Sensational Riesling sourced from the beautiful Waitaki Valley and crafted by Central Otago Wine Guy, Dean Shaw..

"This German-inspired riesling shows complex aromas of lemon curd, spice, mandarin and subtle honey, which lead to a flavoursome palate that is richly fruited and generously weighted. The wine offers subtle sweetness which is brilliantly countered by racy acidity, finishing long and mouth-watering. One for riesling enthusiasts. At its best: now to 2019." Sam Kim Wine Orbit, May 2016

"Bright, even, light golden-yellow colour, paler on the rim. The bouquet is tightly bound, refined and refreshing with aromas of lime and citrus fruits entwined with white florals and a harmonious, mouthwatering amalgam of toast, minerals and subtle kerosene nuances. The nose is steely and has cut and clarity. Medium-dryish to taste and medium-bodied, the palate is tightly bound and refined in expression with a crisp and zingy mouthfeel. The flavours of white florals and lime are enriched by a little honeysuckle, and complexed by toast and mineral detail. The wine flows along a fine-textured line, with underlying acid vitality and poise, revealing floral, toast, honey and mineral nuances on a long and sustained finish. This is an elegantly detailed, refreshingly crisp medium-dry Riesling with subtle complexing toast and mineral flavours. Match with Asian fare over the next 5+ years. Hand-picked fruit from the ‘Lone Hill’ vineyard, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 11.5% alc. and 12.1 g/L RS, TA 9.1 g/L and pH 3.17" Raymond Chan, May 2016

Intense lime, tangerine skin and lifted wildflower aromatics. This wine shows great tension with a floral and citrus drive, good palate density and persistence. Residual sugar is 12.1 G/L.
