Description

"It is nicely lifted on the nose displaying mandarin, peach and rockmelon characters with subtle nutty complexity. The palate is succulent and rounded, and offers smooth texture and appealing fruit flavours, finishing crisp and lingering. A likable medium-bodied chardonnay showing pristine fruit flavours with elegant savoury undertones. At its best: now to 2017." Sam Kim, Wine Orbit  March 2016.

"Even, light golden-yellow colour, pale edged. This has a firm, bold and up-front bouquet of savoury citrus and yellow stonefruits melded with mealy and nutty barrel-ferment and toasty oak notes and layers of burnished cream and butterscotch MLF. Medium-bodied, the palate possesses strong and mouthfilling flavours of savoury yellow stonefruits melded with soft, creamy, mealy and nutty, toasty oak, and butterscotch notes. The mouthfeel is rounded in texture, the softness enhanced by integrated acidity. The flavours grow in breadth and depth, and carry to a soft, mellow, nutty and toasty finish. This is a full, bold and rounded, mouthfilling Chardonnay with savoury citrus fruit, and mealy, nutty and toasty oak. Match with grilled and barbecued poultry and pork dishes over the next 3 years. Fruit 70% from Wairau and 30% Southern Valley, 70% barrel-fermented in 20% new oak and 30% tank–fermented to 12.5% alc., the wine aged 8 months on lees with batonnage and 35% MLF." Raymond Chan

Pam - 01/04/2017

This is the type of chardonnay I love - a good full bodied deep chardonnay. I tend to like the original chardonnays.

Gayel - 11/12/2016

This wine was delicious! Great balance of creaminess with a little oak and crisp acidity! A perfect summer BBQ Chardonnay!

Great value and taste! Would definitely buy again!

Karen - 13/08/2017

Its initial dryness came as a shock, but after being opened for a while, air seems to have alleviated that and it is a most enjoyable wine.

D
Lacks depth of flavour.

Denise - 08/05/2017

Not a favourite, would not purchase again. It's not very smooth and slightly acidic. It's definitely drinkable but doesn't have that "must buy more" factor. Perhaps I have become used too drinking Pinot Gris over the summer!

Jennifer - 10/03/2017

J
The label reads better than the taste
