Description

"The palate is beautifully ripe and rounded"

"94pts... A youthful charmer, the wonderfully fragrant bouquet shows dark plum, blueberry and floral aromas with hints of cedar and white pepper notes. The palate is beautifully ripe and rounded with lovely fruit purity backed by supple mouthfeel and silky tannins. The wine offers plenty of appealing flavours, finishing long and
attractive. At its best: now to 2023." Sam Kim Wine Orbit

"Very full, dark-hearted, purple-hued ruby-red color. Powerful and youthfully raw aromas of black berry fruits, black pepper and spicy oak intermingle with dark herb and whole bunch stalk notes. Medium-full bodied, this has a dense, deep core of strong, black fruits, violet perfumes and oak spices infused with herb and whole bunch-like stalk elements. Grainy but supple tannins underline the fruit and contribute to the ruggedness and youthful flavours and mouthfeel. The wine has a sustained finish with pepper and spice nuances that bloom. This is a fulsome Syrah with black frui, pepper and spice notes along with youthfully raw stalk notes. The wine will benefit with some time to mellow. Match with roasted or grilled herb-encrusted red meat dishes over the next 5-6+ years. MS clone Syrah hand-picked fermented with 5% whole bunch to 14.5% alc., the wine aged 18 months in 25% new French oak. 450 cases made. " Raymond Chan, Nov 2012

"Very smooth, dense, ripe syrah with strong licorice, mocha black pepper and plum/berry flavours. A rich and warming wine with terrific cellaring potential. Fruit is supported by firm, ripe tannins. " Bob Campbell

Deep purple-hued and ruby-red in colour, this age worthy Syrah has a very elegant, tightly bound nose with dark fruit, wild berry and ground black pepper aromas interwoven with the fragrance of violets, herbs and spice box. Concentrated flavours of spicy blackberry, pomegranate and plums merge with liquorice and tobacco elements, forming an integrated and concentrated core and strong palate line. Fine, even grained tannins provide soft textures and a smooth
flowing mouthfeel with a nice, complete finish. This is a serious, concentrated and subtly powerful Syrah.
